On Roll of Prisoners of War, Paroled Natchitoches, La., June 14, 1865. Res. Winn Par., La.

- b. 1840, Barbour Co., AL, 10th child of Samuel W. Hearn who was a pioneer settler in former Creek lands of GA and AL

- d. 1920 in Houston Co., TX and buried in Energy cemetery, moved to TX from LA in 1867

- m. Eliza Keener 1858, 18 children of which 12 lived to adulthood

- Life-long farmer and a Confederate soldier (Texas pension records #19036, #36640), Company I (Jackson Parish) - Col. Gray's 28th LA Infantry

- Volunteered February 1862 and surrendered May 26, 1865, pardoned June 14, 1865
